Radeon 5870 vs mac edition

I have a Radeon 5870 that I got from an old build; 

When I looked up the value of the card, the 'mac edition' is worth almost 4 times the 'pc edition'.

 

What's the difference? The BIOS? And if so, it is possible to flash it?
