The design for their cards is different, I quite like it

I like the look of the new Strix cards from ASUS, although they'll a cost a lot compared to other card designs.

True, but they are more expensive for a few reasons.
- excelent cooling (silent)

- premium build quality

- great overclockers

- use of great components

- they keep their value better than other cards as far as i have seen

 

another thing is just the almost cult like following.
