Hey guys,

So I just decided to do some research on this issue but so far couldn't find anything really helpful so...here's what's up.

I've been playing wow's new expansion for a month now and found significant performance decrease compared to the previous expansion.

Sometime I notice frames dropping from 75 (monitor refresh rate) down to ~40.

However, I do not see any notable hardware usage when experiencing these frame drops (cpu at around 50-60% and gpu even lower).

My setup is:

CPU: I5-3570k (stock clock)

MB: asus P8P67

RAM: 16gb ddr3 - 1333mhz

GPU: Gigabyte 1060 3gb

Worth mentioning is that the game is running on an SSD but it's the same one as the OS is running on.

Now for the questions.

Besides upgrading the CPU, RAM, MB and cooling, is there any other recommendation on increasing the performance in game?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Your processor does not match the motherboard.

The i5-3570K is socket 1155.

While the Asus H81M-K is socket 1150.

CPU: Sempron 2500+ / P4 2.8E / P4 2.6C / A64 x2 4000+ / E6420 / E8500 / i5-3470 / i7-3770
GPU: TNT2 M64 / Radeon 9000 / MX 440-SE / 7300GT / Radeon 4670 / GTS 250 / Radeon 7950 / 660 Ti

Mistook the name, corrected now

Ok. An actual 1155 system then.

Where are you located?

Maybe you can get a used 2nd gen or 3rd gen i7 at a cheap price and get some performance improvements in WOW.

Also have you tried medium settings with your current setup and see if that increases FPS?

Did a bit of searching; Found some 3rd gen I7's but at a ridiculous price.

I did try several settings in game, even the ones recommended by nvidia in their gforce experience software, but with no results.

Strange thing is, while the frames drop below 75, both the cpu and gpu seem to be chilling below 50%

In eBay?

Try to look harder.

You could try other online stores like Ali Express.
