Today when I turned my pc on, it took about 3 minutes to boot to the login screen, normally it takes 10 seconds or so. When i logged in, my mouse wasnt showing up so I had to replug it back in, my keyboard was also not working for about 10 seconds until it detected, my audio settings were also reset so microphone was set to 80% and auto voice gain was on. My speakers were also set as default instead of my headset.

I bought an external DVD drive yesterday which plugs in via usb and installed handbrake and the libdvdcss totally legal copyright remover but other than that i have made no changes.

Any help appreciated :)

Have you attempted a reboot since this first happened to see if you can reproduce the same situation?

Some months back, (I apologize, I don't remember which build it was) audio settings functionally changed with a new Windows 10 build. Upon restarting after the install, I had a number of issues, including my mic volume being set to 0%, my default audio devices being reset and disabled devices being re-enabled, a longer-than-average load time as well as LGS failing to initialize until I rebooted.

On a totally unrelated note... holy PSU overkill batman ?

If there was a Windows update involved in the process of the shutdown prior to this, it may be the same issue I encountered.

So long as it doesn't continue to happen, I wouldn't worry about it, chalk it up to one of those technology-gremlin type deals.

I'm not entirely sure why it would be a new issue, but my next recommendation would be to disable USB selective suspending.

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings -> Changed advanced settings -> USB Selective suspend setting -> Disabled

I'm assuming the long load time is once you're past the UEFI/BIOS (if not, try flashing to the latest version, assuming you're not on it)? If so, it may also be worth trying startup repair and/or check the SMART of your boot drive.

alright, i'll give that a try tomorrow and see if it helps. i disabled booting from a cd drive in the bios since my pc doesnt have a disc drive anyway, also  unplugged the external one i bought. ive restarted a few times throughout the day but i will see if it is still doing it tomorrow morning since thats when both times the issue happened
