Do I need to upgrade ? Why is this ? I looked at the wattage of the 580 power colour and it’s 185w and recommends a 600w psu or are you talking about the amount of pins on the psu ?

you dont need to upgrade, people on this forum believe if its anything other than an evga 1000w gold rated psu its trash

as for your original question, your psu has two 6+2 pins on it, theyre 6 pins with a 2 pin thats detachable so you can use either as a 6 pin or 8 pin

Hi guys , I have recently been looking at the PowerColor Rx 580 golden sample and the pcie slots required are 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin . I have a 600w white EVGA and I was wondering how I would connect the pcies to the gpu as it needs 6 pin and 8 pin .( I am nooby at pc builds so cut me some slack ) :)

My advice is to buy a new PSU.  The EVGA white isn't a brilliant PSU and may not be upto the job if it lacks the pins.

Your power supply has two 6+2 pin connectors. What you do is just plug in the 6 pins in the 6-pin socket with the other 2 hanging off, while you plug the 6 and 2 in together in the 8-pin socket.

You might want to upgrade the power supply at some point, but it'll do the job for now.
