Desktop vaporizer

My friend and his girlfriend using medical marijuana. I decided to buy them a desktop vaporizer as a present for the housewarming. But I know nothing about this stuff but want to choose something really good. I found so many articles and guides, there are even sites are devoted to this topic ( smth like VapingDaily). But there so much information and it's difficult to understand and choose, so I would like to know some life experience and will be thankful for advice.

You need to figure out what they are going to vape first:

1. Flower (This is typical dried cannabis)

2. dried concentrates, like hash

3. More advanced concentrates, like oil, shatter, wax, etc

4. Commercial cartridges, typically oil or otherwise in liquid form

 

If they are using flower right now, just go with that.

 

If you want the "king daddy" of desktop vapes, get them an actual honest to god, official Volcano. There's an analog and digital version (which just means the temperature control - the rest of the unit is essentially identical in both versions). The analog version might not even be for sale anymore - no idea.

 

You can get cheaper desktop vapes as well. Prices can range from sub-$100 for a fairly poor one to easily multi-hundreds of dollars. All US of course.
