This is the build I have chosen. now this is the first time i'm building a custom PC so would really appreciate any input.
I already have a Acer predator ( Gsync ) (1440p 144hz monitor).
I would basically just game and code using this build, anything under the sun, I play all sorts of games.
Here are my questions:

• Can I reduce cost somewhere while not compromising on quality?
• Can you suggest me cases for this build?

• Can i use a 120mm AIO if i don't plan to overclock my CPU now. (I'll upgrade if I need overclocking later).

• Suggest me what GPU should I buy or should I wait for sometime to buy a GPU (till release of 2070?) as all the good 1080's are out of stock here in India. Others are crazy expensive.

Your list is fine. You can sub the AIO with a good air cooler if it makes it easier. For good cases, go with phanteks, fractal Design or nzxt.

For gpu, it would depend on your area. As you said, your area has no more 1080s in stock. So either wait and get rtx or look around used marketplace for 1080 1080ti 1070ti.

If it's just gaming and coding then an 8600K will be a better option and find a cheaper motherboard. As for an AIO, either a 240mm or go with a big aircooler.

Main PC CPU: 7700K, MOBO: Asus Strix, GPU: Aorus Extreme 3080, PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 750, RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB Storage: 970 Evo 1tb

Lounge PC CPU: 4790K MOBO: Asus Hero VII GPU: EVGA 3060 Ti PSU: Corsair RM650 RAM: Kingston HyperX 16gb Storage: 970 Evo 1TB

The cooler's quite bad by 240mm radiator's standard. Use something tier 1 in this list

Corsair ones might be tier 1, but note that their fans are loud to usable peak performance is lower than others.

You can cut the motherboard to the Asrock K6

Fractal Meshify C is usually my pick

If you arent overclocking now, get something much cheaper. For example, a Cryorig M9, H7 that sort of cooler.

1070ti? 2070's just a 1080ti with unusable raytracing, so not a good option.

8600k is quite a step down when it comes to compiling code.

Thanks Guys.
Thanks for the Cooler recommendations I'll look through the list.
Yes going with the Fractal Meshify, thanks :)

I was thinking the same about the i7. I think an i5 would be a bottleneck for 144hz too? wouldn't it?
Thanks going for the K6 then ( i honestly have no idea about motherboards.)
Do you think 1070ti would be enough for the rig?

this is more dependent on the game you're playing.

Do you think 8600k will be a bottleneck then? is it significantly less performant than the 8700k?

put it this way. CPU remains relevant longer than a GPU, so you should spend more on the CPU when longevity is concerned. If all you care is gaming performance today, then you should spend more on the GPU (and why cheap builds pour more money on the graphics card)
