Okay so here's the dilemma I just built a new pc, not my first rodeo, however my first ryzen rodeo. So I went and got a b350 krait gaming motherboard from msi, probably my first mistake. I also got a Ryzen 5 2600 and Adata 16gb (2 8gb sticks). And I've got a 1080 for my graphics card.

I have no post, and one long beep. I've tried one stick of ram in the 2 slot. Ive tried both rams in the 2 slot. Ive moved them around. Taken the battery out of the mobo. Resetted the cpu, took the whole pc apart and put it back together again.

As I begin to start dissecting this cantaloupe of a computer I'm faced with bad ram, wrong bios for cpu or bad mobo... So where would you guys start first.

Btw I live in the middle of no where so I must order parts or drive over 2 hours to get any parts you suggest.

I'll attach a picture of my mother board. All my leds are white and never change or flash off.

I suspect it's old BIOS on the motherboard. You havre to have a pretty recent update to use a 2nd gen chip. Take a look at AMD's bootkit information here. A bootkit is where they'll send you a loaner CPU to update your BIOS, and then you send it back. It's free, and I imagine it should fix your issue.

Gosh, I hate it when people forget. Anyway, check out my PC below, and there's a PCPartPicker link on my profile, If you wanna see what I'm planning.

Or you can also go back to the retailer you bought it from and ask them to update your BIOS for you.

I imagine he ordered it online, based on how he talks about shipping, and often retailers charge you for that. Canada Computers quoted me $20 for it.

I got it from best buy do you think they would update the bios for me? Or I will probably just buy a new mobo and return this one

MicroCenter will do it(for a fee, unless you bought it from them), you can always ask them at best buy, however returning the mobo and getting a new one will be a guaranteed success choice.

other mobos: B450 tomahawk or b450-TUF

No just do the free boot kit mentioned earlier. Look it up on AMD's site, seems much less of a hassle than replacing the thing

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I would, however some of the ram issues with ryzen and mobos are not fine tuned until later bios. So I could run into an issue of needing a different type of ram to get into the bios.

Ram issues like what? Also, "fine tuning" isn't needed, as the PC doesn't need to run well to update BIOS, it just has to run. I highly doubt you'd run into a ram issue with their cheap APU they send you.
