THE BIG BITCH

So I'm seeking to build a huge gaming/streaming rig, not my first build, gonna be watercooling EVERYTHING, but I need to know what CPU I should get, I need something that's good for 1080p streaming and content creation, but also fast for gaming.  Also, Corsair 1000D ;)

Upcoming intel 9900K with 8 cores and 16 threads.  Should have good clocks speeds compared to the 2700 from AMD, but will cost more.

Current 8700K and 2700 aren't bad either, and can be watercooled.

If you want to go higher end then the 2950X from AMD or any of the 10-18 core Skylake X cpus are good too.  You just need the $$$.

What are you looking to spend?

This should be in new builds and planning

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

2080 Ti then

That seems like ridiculous overkill for 1080p... I'd go for a GTX 1080 at most for 1080p. The CPU is where he should splurge. Maybe go for a Threadripper or i9. Depending on what refresh rate you're aiming for both could offer comparable gaming performance and productivity.

CPU - Ryzen Threadripper 2950X | Motherboard - X399 GAMING PRO CARBON AC | RAM - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8GB DDR4-3200 14-13-13-21 | GPU - Aorus GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Edition | Case - Inwin 909 (Silver) | Storage - Samsung 950 Pro 500GB, Samsung 970 Evo 500GB, Samsung 840 Evo 500GB, HGST DeskStar 6TB, WD Black 2TB | PSU - Corsair AX1600i | Display - DELL ULTRASHARP U3415W |
