Anyone one know were a good guide for this is? I have never done it before.

My cpu is a i5 4670k idols at max 9c and tops out at load at about 30c but i feel it is a bit underpowerd as i find my games not able to run max 1080p at 60fps this is what i want to oc

My mobo is a asus z87 pro

my cooler is an cool master evo 212 with one fan

I have a corsair Tx 650 psu that i need to replace again cause the dam thing clicks because it has a bad fan controller again.

a windforce gtx 780 oc edition Idols at abount 30c about 50c at load think i got bad silicone due to those temps but i don't know how to monitor gpu performance any tips would be good.  maybe this is why my my games seem so slow maybe i should check.

Also if it dosent include it what programs do i need for

Cpu overclocking and testing, My mobo came with stuff to do so not sure how good it is.

gpu monitioring testing and overclocking never installed the gigabyte one cause everyone says msi afterburner is better

What do i need to know most importantly so i dont break something

really its just rial and error,

For doing the overclock = BIOS ONLY

for testing it = Prime95 for a good few hours

just look up some 4670k guide and find out key things like maximum Vcore recommended, average speeds people get and other things.

---

I use MSI Afterburner to monitor my GPU temps or GPU-Z for looking up in detail.

as for overclocking I am sure your GPU would have came with some software to do this

Again as above, see what other people can get out of them.

---

---

Just remember though its all a lottery you may get better or worse results.

what program are you using to measure the cpu temps? they seems very low.

have you tried using a different one as well the cpu shouldn't be able to be at 9c unless your ambient is like 0c

Is that really so? I use prime95/Intel, it seems many others do too. How is that?

To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

I forgot the exact reason why and don't really want to speculate. You can look it up yourself or create a thread if you care enough. I think it's more an issue with Haswell chips and (less) possibly Ivy.

Good (3570K). For Ivy, I have seen Logon/Linus use Prime no problem. Not saying that your wrong.

I used a different program and idol they are around 20c and under load the cpu gets between 30-42c. The gpu is about the same. though i do keep my room cold its not quite 0 lol between 10-20c lol
