Hey guys,

I'm currently building a US$500 budget gaming rig with the ryzen 2200g APU and no GPU (obviously). My question is if the 2200g will become a bottleneck if I upgrade it later with let's say an RX 580 or a similar GPU.

Thanks for your answers.

It depends on so many things... If you want to game at 720p in CSGO, yes.

If you want to play AAA games at 1440, probably not.

Main Rig: R9 5950X @ PBO, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR4 3666, InWin 101, Full Hardline Watercooling

Server: R7 1700X @ 4.0 GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 32GB DDR4 3000, Cooler Master NR200P, Full Soft Watercooling

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...

The thing I know for sure is that I'll be playing at 1080p and probably will be playing AAA games, but not the new ones.

Well, if you overclock that 2200G, it'll probably be fine. Won't promise that your GPU will be stuck at 100% usage all the time, but it'll at least be close, generally speaking. Check reviews of the 2200G to see at what point faster GPUs stopped helping

It's probably fine , considering the 2200G is about as fast an the older quad core i5s

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case
