Noise?

so i just built my first computer and its making a loud long beep until I turn it off its around the io   what is it and is it supposed to do that?

its pretty loud and high pitched to the point of me having to turn it off after about 30 sec.  there is nothing else misbehaving if you want I can list the parts

well you can find out if some component is vibrating when it shouldn't be, and since wood is non conductive, you won't break anything

It’s not vibration it’s more of a squealing

All sound is caused by some sort of movement. A small object shaking back and forth very fast causes a high pitched sound.

It does sound like a small speaker. Is there one attached to your motherboard?

That's your sound chip, it doesn't produce sound it just processes sound data for your speakers. A motherboard speaker would be a little cylinder with a hole in the top.

well the important thing now is to identify where exactly the whine is coming from. Have you turned on the computer without a graphics card, or have you unplugged fans while they were spinning? I would assume something mechanical would make a noise like that.

I’ve tried the fans and no also the hdd and also no and I just tried the graphics card and none of them

Is it possible to listen to where the sound is coming from inside the PC? It may be easier to remove the motherboard and run it outside the case. You can just leave it on a cardboard box.

Alright I took it out and I took out the graphics card and it turns that was it so what do I do

You can try to find what part of the graphics card makes the noise.
