So I'm currently using Aorus Z370 Gaming 7 with i7 8700k how ever I was one of those unlucky people who has one of those i7 8700k that couldn't over clock to 5.0Ghz..

So about a week ago I decided to delid my cpu with liquid metal + Copper IHS upgrade, to see if i could push it a bit further the process seems to went through just fine. I was able to boot and overclock my cpu to 5.1Ghz w/o a problem up untill today, my machine started acting up.

I was able to boot into the bios but not into the Windows 10. So decided to reset my settings in the bios back to bone stock and I was able to boot in the Windows, but however as soon as I reboot or shutdown and start my machine I have to reset my bios settings again to get it working again. When I tried reformatting my OS, I wasn't able to boot my USB Windows installer key either...

Just wondering could it be my cpu is failing after deliding? or the is motherboard failing?

Thanks!

do you can enter bios ?

if yes reset your settings

I was able to enter Bios to reset my settings and Windows did boot just fine... But however when i restart it doesn't work again, I would have to go in the bios and reset my settings again. I also left every settings back to bone stock.

you should backup your private files

and do format  but this step at last i wish you  find answer

also make sure the cpu cable + maybe you should remove cpu and install again with cooler

hold they will answer you

i`m sure you did not install cpu right

I tried reformatting the machine, but the usb Windows installation key is also doing the same thing. So I wouldn't think its my SSD that is causing it, if it was the cpu wasn't sitting up right then it would have detected the issue and throw me an error code.
