The extra threads on the 8700k is huge, especially if you play CPU intensive games. With the 8600k you could run into FPS issues due to lack of available headroom on the CPU when streaming while you will likely not have any issues with the extra threads on the 8700k. Its a no brainer.

I kno the 8700k is better im just trying to find a video or something on how much better. I  stream with my 7700k with no issues. However im giving it to my fiance. Im just curious of the difference in streaming between the 8700k and 8600k.

Im trying to decide if i should go  8700k with 1080 or 8600k with 1080ti.

But if anyone has a benchmark of the difference between these 2 cpus it would be a huge help.

there is no quantitative benchmarks for streaming. But I do a fair amount of streaming myself, and the best answer is almost always going to be more threads = better.

I mean if i can already stream with my 7700k im sure i can still stream with the 8600k, but whats the better choice  ?

Save up until you can buy a 8700K and 1080Ti.

The better choice is definitely the 8700K however based on the info provided above I'm not sure you can afford it right now.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Im getting this as a gift, and i dont work due to a car accident. So i have to choose  out of the options i gave above. I wont be able to upgrade or anything for a long time.

8600k 1080 ti

or 8700k w/ 1080

I have to order tonight. I dont have time to save or wait.

I'd go with the 8700K 1080 then.

I been having such a hard time deciding, Others are telling me to go with 8600k and 1080ti and stream with the gpu. But like i said before i can stream with the 7700k im giving my fiance with no issues, so the 8600k i feel should be able to stream as well right? or is the extra 2 threads on the 7700k which makes it better

the 7700K and 8600K are not great long term purchases.

The R7 2700 or 8700K are a lot better long term purchases. So in this case I would say 8700K.

Truthfully, if you are streaming, get a Ryzen 2700 instead of an 8700K. You can then use the money saved on the processor swap to get the 1080ti. The 2700 is a much better chip to stream from anyways over the 8700k.
