Hey,

About a year I bought a pre-build PC (I know stupid right) exact model being : MSI nightblade mi2c-256eu.

Now since I'm not a computer expert but I do want to upgrade I have a few questions:

Will my somewhat low-mid range CPU prevent any modern ''high end'' GPU from getting peak performance?

If so what GPU would be the best I could buy without having to upgrade the CPU?

Also higher level GPU's will use more power so I would probably have to upgrade my power supply but the one that I have in my case right now has this weird rectangler shape so Im not quite sure what to look for.

I would like solid performance on high to ultra settings (1440p @75fps) and not too expensive (under 400, Im willing to buy second handed and also sell my old 1050Ti ofc)

Specs (right now):

CPU                             intel i5-7400

GPU                             MSI 1050Ti (4GB)

MotherBoard               MS-B0901 (U3E1)

RAM                            8GB DDR4 SODIMM @1067MHz)

Power                          350W (not sure about the exact model)

If you need any more info/specs just repply and Ill try to get it to you as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance,

-Alex

you might have to get a new PSU if you upgraded the GPU. but 1080ti's have gone down in value a fair amount so would be amajor upgrade over 1050ti. but thats over budget. you could also get a 1080 for under you price. ebay or amazon good idea

Easier to sell the entire prebuilt as a whole, then start off new. Btw that budget isnt enough for what you've asked for in AAA games, only competitive games (csgo, overwatch etc) can maybe fit in that budget. When I say budget, I do take selling the prebuilt into account

You are good ok as far as budget goes.

Used (most likely off mining), you can get 1080 easy for 400$ shipped, and possibly Ti if you add some cash or do some hunting and are ok with post-mining samples.

Your CPU is rather slow though, and may cause issues. Mileage will vary from title to title.

You will need more power PSU for sure.

Dude, you're crazy if you think you'll be able to run AAA games at 75 fps at 1440p with that cpu and gpu combo, even with a 1080ti. If you want that performance, you're gonna have to upgrade both
