So I recently found out there are going to be microtransactions in DMC5... a single player game... that you have to pay for... Why did they have to do it? I understand microtransactions in free games for cosmetic purposes but for skills in a game i paid for? bruh...

You REAL GAMERS think it's fine or is it unacceptable like it should be UNACCEPTABLE!

Bolivia.

We all saw this coming when Corporations dropped selling PC games on CD’s and went with Origin and Steam.

Its allll about making maximum $$$. They likely employ as many psychologists to create a game for maximum $$$...as they do coders.

Microtransactions were added to Shadow of War and Assassin's Creed Origins. Now its DMC5.

Still many people torrent single player games and just cheat their way into microtransactions all they want. And with all the P2W getting into single player games, torrenting them doesn't look that bad anymore.

considering the price is  cheaper than typical Capcom game, i don't really mind. i can always use cheat engine if i want extra exp or skill points.

It sounds from the article that they are just selling red orbs to people that don't feel like earning them in game.  This would allow them to unlock skills they probably would not have been able to unlock until later in the game.  If you were just going to buy and play the game as it was meant to be played it sounds like these microtransactions, won't effect you, so they are not a problem.

the thing is the incentive to purchase orbs with real money would be to make them absurdly expensive... like STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 2... can you imagine? completing the game twice to get enough orbs to get 1 skill... gtfo of my game microtransactions i already paid for it...

If they did it that way you would be correct, but we haven't seen the game yet so we don't know that is the case.  In the DMC3 Air Hike was 20000 orbs.  If it is the same (more or less) then no problem.  If it costs 500,000 then you have a problem.  Best thing to do is not preorder and wait for the reviews.

Wrong attitude to have, shouldn't be a thing in the first place.

Not surpirsed, its a dick more for sure. .BUT , its capcom, and its a single player game. it WILL be modded, so if they 'balance' it to encourage microtransaction, the 1st mod will be to change that.

They will get some people to buy the MT's, but the majority wont, and a good portion will mod around it.

Meh, i like DMC so i will support by buying the game if the review is good. I don't like micro transaction esp P2W one so i won't be using it, hopefully they will get the message.

Hard to not follow current trend of in-game microtransaction imo, but if implemented the right way it shouldn't be a problem.

I also won't buy the game if they implement always online security check to prevent any memory modification in case they fuck up orbs drop rate to favor micro transaction.
