it is worth the what like $20 increase for the b450 and x470 boards

The newer boards guarantee the board coming with a bios that's compatible (though it's been a while since Ryzen 2 launch so B350 and X370 boards you buy are most likely going to work out of the box). You do lose a few features like StoreMI tho
