Greetings!

I'm currently ussing on board audio (Asus H110m-K). I bought HyperX Cloud Alpha and I was wondering if I get any boost in sound performance after buying Behringer Xenyx 302USB (42€) or Behringer U-PHORIA UMC22 (47€) these are the cheapest DAC/Mixer's I can get in my country. The purpose is to increase sound quality a little bit and to hear footsteps a bit better. I am using the headset for competitve gaming and the sound is really important, maby I'll stream sometime so the XLR slot for mic is helpful. Any suggestion are welcome.

Thank you!

For hyper x cloud alpha there is no need for a soundcard , and nowadays a soundcard is near useless , its way better to put that hardware outside the computer (DAC) , but with that headset u wont hear any change (i think) , I was at the same step that u are and the best thing I did was to throw my razer kraken pro (its worse than ur cloud) and buy a good cans (AKG k712 pro, they say that are one of the best to hear steps and fun to use in everyday basis)

So to sum up, if I were you i would stick to that without any change (cloud alpha are one of the best gaming headset) or take the next step (its way pricier) that is to buy an AMP a DAC and a good cans, good cables and a good mic.

My bill was:

190€ for AKG k712 pro
230€(on us 200$) for schiit stack (99$ amp + 99$ dac)
100€ for Blue yeti
10-20€ good rca cables.

So you see that the next step for a good sound setup for hearing footsteps are around 500€ you can cut a bit the price picking the k-701 for 110-120€ but almost that is the next upgrade, so if I were you i would stick to your alpha plus nothing and if you want to upgrade just save 200-250 to buy an amp + dac or a combo(there are cheaper but we are talking about sound positioning setup) + 100-150 for a good cans (if 200 better, because there are a lot to pick on that range)

Thank you for response, I have used the wrong term I think that the Berhinger things are not cards, they are DAC and Mixer (I think) I will change the title. https://www.amazon.de/Behringer-ZB791-UMC22-Audiophile-Interface/dp/B00FFIGZF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537372887&sr=8-1&keywords=behringer+umc22 and https://www.amazon.de/Behringer-302USB-5-Input-eingebautem-Interface/dp/B005EHILV4/ref=sr_1_1?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1537373506&sr=1-1&keywords=Behringer+Xenyx+302USB If anyone had expirience with those feel free to share it. My country has really wierd prices, some DAC's cost 3x the real price so it's really hard to pick one, sometimes I can grab something on a sale and shipping is also expensive.
