Need some SAS drives

Im looking to get my hands onto a couple (6 to be exact) 2.5" SAS drives for my server projects. Does anyone have any thoughts on buying used drives? Any drives that are a good price to look for?

 

Im looking for ~1TB a drive, although 2TB would be ideal. They are going to be in some RAID configuration, although I dont know which. Any suggestions for that? Speed is ideal along with redundancy (at least 2x speed preferrably)

Whatare you storing on this? Your much better off with ssds for vms, there so much faster.

 

 

Mass storage for a steam cache / nas / Plex server, where space is more important than speed as far as im concerned

 

I have a 32GB USB stick that is the host for ESXi.

then just get sata laptop hdds.

probably about as good as a used sas drive. Thats what id get personally. Sas 2.5 hdds are basically a dead standard now.
