So my friend has a craptop, And he wants to play games with me. He and I both have decent internet connections and I have two gaming PC's. My first thought was steam in home streaming but thats IN HOME and we're not on the same network and I can't give him my PC nor can he buy one. How can I set it up so he can remote to my computer at any time and play his games with me with little to no latency?

thats not going to happen

Sometimes the monitor itself can have latency issues...... and it's literally connected directly to the computer.....

Best just play a game that his laptop supports.

I honestly don't care if there's latency, as long as he can play with as little latency as possible. Like is there any way that he can just remote to my computer whenever he wishes to play a game? (that isn't teamviewer we tried already)

It's literally not worth the effort.

The latency will be so rough they won't want to play.

I don't know how you would do it. But I do know that game streaming services exist. So check them out. I would assume that since they exist it's possible but you would probably need a stupid fast connection and a whole room of hardware.

the latency could be multiple seconds which would render any non point and click game pretty unplayable.

the time it takes commands to go from his machine through the internet to your machine , then have your machine calculate the result and stream the results back over the internet to his machine is just silly.

OKAY. so here's the deal, we both have 30mbps or greater internet speeds, we don't mind a few seconds delay, we're both on the east coast (2 states away) and want to make this work. He doesn't have money for any game streaming services, I can't ship the computer to him, and we want to just play a game together. How can we make it so he can stream a game from MY computer to HIS with the least amount of latency? I DON'T care if its unethical or too much effort. This is something I want to do, but I need ideas and help on different ways to do it. So PLEASE just give me an answer or suggestion instead of telling me about the latency. I am VERY aware there will be latency, and I really just don't care.

I'm not sure if it'll work. But VNC could be an option to try. I'd use that over teamviewer anyday, however i got no idea how it'll perform in games.

The other option i can think of is to use dedicated servers on the games it's possible compared to use remote tools. As the problems with remote tools is not just latancy, but how the data is transfered from computer to computer. Even just running Windows as you've experienced running teamviewer is still a damn challenging task.

Sorry for repeating the latency again. But your best guess that i can think of right now is VNC.
