Hey Guys,

Budget and Location

im planing on going for a new Computer Build, ill also recyle some of my actually using parts bcs i just got them recently. Im living in Germany and i tought about spending around 750-800€ for a new Gaming Computer.

Aim

The Aim for this new System is about just keeping up with high quality gaming for the next few years maybe.

Monitors

I do only plan to use 1 Monitor but i could get a 2nd one for maybe watching videos while playing... idk... just a unessecary feature i guess... but it should atleast be able to run a TV bcs myself and some friends like to watch some series or movies lol.

Why am i upgrading?

Well my computer that i now use is somewhat... old and i think its now time since the prices went again in a normal state. I do want to play some games that will come new in High-in atleast 60-80FPS and something for the future.

My Specs atm:

CPU: AMD FX-8320 8x 3.50 Ghz (Boostclock 4Ghz)

Ram: G.Skill DDR3 1300Mhz 1x 8GB

MainBoard: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P-FX (AM3 Socket)

GPU: GeForce GTX 680 2GB

Ill do recycle som of my current parts (such as my PSU) since they are new bought and I think they should do good.

What i am going to buy is in the Dragfile for u to watch it.

Now let me know if u like the new build or not. I acutally like it since it has a Red and Black theme going on what i think will be really cool looking.

Welcome to the LTT forum!

Thanks for providing a budget and currency, that definitely helps out when putting together a parts list. Before I put my link in, a few things:

1) X370/X470's only advantage over B350/B450 is being able to support multiple GPUs.

2) An RX 580 is not a whole lot more powerful than a GTX 970.

That being said, I gave a crack at it.

P.S, if you don't want to reuse PSU and case, or have suggestions, please let me know.

What's so mediocre about it? As far as I'm concerned it's a pretty good rig.

Are you talking about my current rig ?

If so, then it does really ok in ELS Games (such as LoL, CSGO and other games) But i do want to be able to play games like BF1 on Ultra by 60 to 80 FPS (since my Monitore does only support 60FPS, but i do might get into a better Performence Monitore some time.

I was referring more to what you have planned for it, but your current stuff actually isn't that bad for how old it is, funny enough.

Look great! If I were to recommend anything I'd say go with the 1600 non x, since they can overclock to pretty much the same speed whilst you'll also be saving a couple euros.

I thought the non X is the one that cant be overclocket ? Or what was again the difference between them ?

ALL Ryzen cpu's (excluding the low end ahtlon they're gonna be releasing soon) can be overclocked.

My Friend told me otherwise that the RX580 should performe like a GTX 1060 6GB since they are in equal prices. Or am I wrong?

Pretty much yeah, though a 1060 is roughly equal to a 980, so you could see it like that.

And as i far know the RX580 should be more future safe since it supports DirectX12 with a 8GB V-Ram.

Yep that's the gist of it. Plus on the amd side you get the option of freesync which is a lot more affordable than g-sync.

Yeah, it is. I just recommended that you either stick with the 970 or go with 1070, because the 1070 is:

1) More powerful than a 970 by a substantial amount.

2) Also has 8GB of VRAM.

3) Has DirectX 12 support.

Well, seems like i cant argue with that.

But other then that it cost twice the price. But i think u convinced me with that.

I did actually wanted to get the first concept bcs it would look cool but i do not really care that much on performence...

i still would like to get the new Case since my older ATX Case is somewhat dmged and it does only have 1 Big front 120mm Fan.

Since the new one has a Front AND a Exhauste Fan it should be a really good deal by only 50€ dosnt it?

I certainly agree, though I'd say running dx12 on nvidia is a lot less advantageous than it is on amd (at least what I remember from articles and such :P).

Fair enough. In that case, either try and cut a few corners off of the list that I sent you, or save up a little bit more for that case, and preferably some case fans.

Yeah, there's more performance to be had from DX12 on AMD GPUs, but it doesn't make, say, the performance of a 580 leaps and bounds ahead of a 1060. Not a fanboy, just that one isn't insanely more powerful than the other.

And besides, DX12 hasn't been extremely widely adopted, like DX11. No DX12 support isn't a deal-breaker, but it's nice to have.

True, True. I've always felt like dx12 is becoming the new dx10. Cool, but the next one will probably be the big one.

The Powercolor RX 580 is the worst RX 580 on the market. You can kill it without overclocking it. The VRM is even worse than Gigabyte's crap.

Don't get the 1600X. The only difference between it and the 1600 is a slightly larger XFR range and different stock clocks. Both of which won't matter, since you should overclock it. Or one of the 2000 series CPUs.

MSI's 300 series AM4 boards are not very good. The B450-A would be a better choice.

Either use the stock cooler, or get a higher end air cooler. The stock 95W cooler is decent.

NVMe drives won't improve the boot times or the game load times. It's just a waste, unless you do things like edit videos all the time.

What's the PSU you plan on reusing? I assume you already have a HDD.

With this build, you can drop the air cooler and use the stock 65W cooler, and/or get a cheaper case. I'm assuming the PSU is so old/low end that it can't be reused. Hard to say without knowing which one it is.

Thanks for that Quick up, ill see each part of its own and then think about it what it would look like and how it will performes in the future.

1st. Tbh, i was going for something that would be future proof by getting a GPU with 8GB and DirectX12 Support(it can if it has to be stay at DirectX11 but thats just a nice to have feature) I thought a GTX GPU would be there a better Choice.

2nd of all. The look at it. I mean u litrally put anything that is Black into a white Case... Seems for me wierd. Buuut, well since RGB and ASTHETIC shouldnt be a major factor in performence i dont really care... it just will look really wierd i think?

3rd. I still thank you for the efford.

PowerColor is not the worst 580 in the market, just because some youtuber did a VRM analyis (his channel is Extreme overclocking) .. which I really doubt he's going to do any extreme overclocking.

I have a Red Devil from them and it's one of my favorite cards of all time.

That youtuber is a joke, most of the times he just pick on stuff that he doesnt even know what's about, even doesn't do a proper study of the card.

And we should believe you instead of someone that actually knows his shit, because...? Feel free to come with facts

In case you didn't know, facts don't change just because you own crappy stuff. MOSFETs have ratings, and the Powercolor card uses underspecced ones.

DX12 is supported by both Polaris and Pascal without issues. As well as several older AMD cards. You could spend more to get potentially more use out of the GPU.

Aesthetic parts can be changed later. I just chose a random case that isn't terrible.
