im choosing between an i5 2400 and an fx 6300 which should I go for?

the i5 2400 will be the better choice. try looking for a xeon e3 1230 or i7 2600 on ebay though, i've seen the xeon at $50 on ebay.

The intel is the better one, but see what your motherboard supports at most and see if you can find it on a good deal

I do have a gtx 660 to pair it with

Your athlon uses ddr2 right? I think a used i5 with 4gb of ddr4 on a cheap h series board will do nicely. I bet you could find something like an i5 6400 in your budget somewhere like Craigslist.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad
