X-plane 11 VR: Will a CPU upgrade help?

Hi,

so I play x-plane 11 a lot, but it's a bit jittery.

Increasing or decreasing settings does nothing to change it and my hardware is barely even being used according to MSI afterburner..

The game uses openGL for some reason and that's the main culprit.

So, has anyone hear used X-plane 11 with an older CPU and then upgraded?

I want to know if the CPU upgrade made a difference.

I'm on a 4790k now and thinking about either an 8700k or 9700k when they come out.

Has anyone done a similar upgrade and can comment on the difference it made?

Unnecessary dude, because I'm not asking any question that would require that. I've already thoroughly been over what's causing the issue in x-plane so I'm not looking for troubleshooting. That'd just be kicking a dead horse at this point. (for the record though: It's a system with a gtx 1080, 4790k, asus maximum vii hero, 16gb 2400mhz ddr3, etc and nothing is even close to being worked hard in afterburner.. CPU is at about 50 percent usage and GPU is at 58%.).

I'm only looking for whether or not people have upgraded their CPUs and noticed a difference in performance afterwards.

That's all I'm asking. Nothing else :)

This alone seems to me more like the game is horribly optimized than a too slow CPU.

Main PC: R7 3700X / Gigabyte X570 I Aorus Pro Wifi / Radeon RX 5700 XT / 32GB DDR4-3200 / 250GB & 2TB Crucial MX500 (in HP Prodesk 400 Case)

Laptop: R5 2500U / Radeon Vega 8 / 8GB DDR4-2400 / 500GB SK Hynix BC501 (HP Envy x360 13)

My little Server: i7-7700 / Asrock H110M-ITX / 24GB DDR4-2400 / Samsung 860 Pro 250GB & Seagate Firecuda 2TB / VMware ESXi 6.7

(Don't tell me i should Name them, i don't want to ^^)

Yea, I think you're right but since CPUs make a big difference in opengl benchmarks, I'm curious. I hope someone who actually did this upgrade and compared ends up commenting :)

Already way ahead of you with that ;)

Alright, kinda thought you would've; those are monsters at overclocking.

It wouldn't be unwise to wait for the 9700K at the very least, and see if anyone else gets it and tries X-Plane on it.

Check out my guide on how to scan cover art here!

Yea, it's kind of hard to justify a CPU upgrade in general until 10nm is finished if you're looking at intel anyways.
