When i first builded my pc it just had an HDD but I just bought an SSD, how can i delete windows from the hdd, install it on the ssd, without losing anything in the hard drive because i don't want to have to download games or stuff like that. Also how can i move programs like Chrome or Steam.

There are programs you can use to clone drives like that, but it's recommended to do a clean install anyway.

Programs like chrome and steam need to be reinstalled.

For games you can simply tell steam where their location is instead of reinstalling them.

You can't really fully delete it cause files are scattered everywhere.

Even deleting files you can see in file explorer, there are many hidden system files and partitions you can only get rid of by reformatting the drive.

Some people are too lazy to do this so they just make sure their computer only boots from the SSD in BIOS boot priority list, and just leave windows on the hard drive.

The best way would be to move the data you want to keep off of the hard drive first, format it using windows disk management, then move the files back.

The most important thing is to only have the SSD plugged in while installing windows.
