Hey! I have some questions about the compatability of the products I plan to buy and I want to be sure that I buy the right stuff. I am going to use this build for Level Design. I know the GPU is fine enough but I want to be sure that there will be no bottlenecks. I also plan to game on this computer but I won't be playing 4k, or even 2k. I plan to game at 1080p. Also I didn't list a power supply because the site I buy, gives a 700W power supply but It doesnt give any info about it. Only says 700W and 80PLUS. So here are the parts that I chose:

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X

Motherboard: ASUS FX-a320M GAMING

RAM : GSIKK Aegis 8GB DDR4 2400MHz (2 of these)

Graphics Card: MSI GTX 1060 6GB OC V1

Case: Cooler Master Masterbox Pro 5

Hard Drive: WD 3.5" Red 4TB (This is for storing projects and installing not-so used software)

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB (For gaming and on-going projects.)

CPU Cooler: Rampage Galaxy-240

Case Cooler: Rampage PLN-120

Thermal Paste: Cooler Master HTK-002 (I know this is compatible I just said why not list it.)

So will I need to but another power supply. As nvidia shows 1060 draws about 120W and 2600X draws about 270W while gaming. I know about 200W is empty use but it is not a problem if it doesn't effect the computer.

Thanks!

I would go for the base R5 2600 instead of the 2600X, and for Ryzen, please, please up the RAM speed to at least 3000MHz

Thanks for the information! May I ask why do I need 3000 MHz ram? BTW I plan to update it up to 32 GB.

Ryzen with the way it's built relies much more on higher frequency RAM.

Thanks for the heads up! I will upgrade the ram to a higher frequency ram as I will do with my board (It supports up to 2666 MHz). Any suggestions about what I should buy? I don't need like Mucho RGB or fancy gaming feautures. But I need it to be stable for Lightmap Renders that take up to hours on full power to bake so it reaaly needs to stand for itself. I am also looking for something affordable since I am only 16 and I don't want to suck up my parents money.

no need for 32gb ram at least for another year.

there's no games or programs that require that much ram, it would be a waste.

16gb is the sweetspot until 2020 (i predict).

by that time upgrade to 32gb would be cheaper.

700 watt power supply is a waste too, 500 watt is ok. Cpu getting more power efficient, its going to be more efficient every generations.

So maybe in the future 500 watt will be considered a big one.

PC is modular, you can upgrade anything at anytime you need to.

Don't spend a fortune on day one. Build the basic stuff first.

Prioritize on MB, CPU, GPU and SSD first.

Next the ram and extra hdd,

lastly the thermal management, i think this would be the last thing you should worry.

Ryzen cpu came with a great cooler, you should try it first.

remember PC is modular!

I know 700W power supply is not needed but it comes as a gift from the site with the case. And like I said I plan to upgrade to 32 GB ram later on. Not now, but I may need it on big projects that I work on models that take up to milions of faces. That kind of map modeling is something I have never done before. It runs like garbage on 16GB DDR3 on the softwares I use. I would enjoy a smoth experience. Thanks anyways!

if you're certain with 32gb, then go for it. make it a priority.
