I'm running a R5 2600, Asrock B450 gaming itx/ac, 16gb 2666nhz 16cl, Galax GTX 1070ti in a silverstone RVZ03.

256gb Intel 760p nvme boot, Crucial MX500 1tb ssd storage and a 2.5inch Seagate barracuda 1tb.

Be quiet shadow rock lp 130tdp for cpu cooler.

I was thinking of starting a YouTube channel with my cousin, I was wondering is the system I have is good enough to do the YouTube video's editing? Is there anything else I may need to upgrade in the system

Thank you for the help advice

You've ticked all the boxes for an editing PC, it's great! :) Also, good luck if you do decide to go through with starting a YouTube video! :D

Youtube built in editor? does it even have one? is likely trash.

Try mMovie Studio Platinum, should be cheap, or Vegas Pro 14/15/16 should it be on sale on a humble bundle.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Should be more than capable of handling 1080p video editing.

One thing I would recommend is looking at more storage. Maybe not in the system itself but rather in a NAS. If you're planning on making a lot of videos and are recording videos or game streams then it can very quickly use up a lot of storage space, and your 1TB Barracuda will fill up very quickly - especially if it is also your personal PC with your own files on it.

It would also be a good idea to keep backups of your old footage and projects just so you have a copy of the original footage. Even though it's 'saved' on Youtube, the quality is often compromised when it is encoded on Youtubes end. You may want to re-use some of that older footage in newer projects.

Edit: Also, look at some back up solutions as well. Last thing you want is to lose all your recorded footage, work and projects to a HDD failure. (RAID is not a backup)

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself, you should appear on a video and see how it goes, believe in yourself! :)

As long as you have good content and can deliver it in a way that your audience can appreciate it won't matter too much if you butt ugly.

But you could always just turn it in to a meme and always have objects placed in front of your face obscuring it from the camera whenever you do have to be on camera. Microphone pop filters or low hanging boom mics would be an easy option :D

That's entirely fine, as long as your videos look neat, it won't matter too much. :) Whatever you're comfortable and happy with, as long as you have fun doing so.

I feel like I've watched a few videos with this concept before where someone's face was hidden with a boom microphone... Great for comedic effect. :D
