I thought EK Cryofuel was supposed to be one of the less messy coolants? I disassembled my loop after about a year and it's left quite a lot of staining and deposits of gunk that's difficult to clean off. It's the additive kind, mixed with distilled water.

The first two shots are before cleaning, because I'm still working on them. The buildup of blue gunk is taking hours of soaking and scrubbing to take off.

The last picture is the CPU block after cleaning. You can see the blue staining is still there.

Have you tried to use a bit of detergent? I didn't observe any staining for mine during my 1 year maintenance, but I suppose there are differences between system temperature and hard/soft tubing. With the acrylic plates, you can polish it using plastx.

I have various cleaning pictures here too.

I've been using dish soap, but it doesn't do much. I used Mayhems Ultra Clear soft tubing, I wonder if that's the problem. I thought plasticizer would be more soft and rubbery though. This stuff is hard. I'm having to scrape some of it off with my fingernails or metal tweezers, because the toothbrush just isn't cutting it. It's also caked down between the fins of the GPU block, making it really difficult to remove.

Looks good, I'll have to get some.

Mine didn’t stain. Didn’t run the fluid for a year though. I would never do that anyway.
