Well, actually, you can almost always get a refund on ebay as long as you either dident get the item at all, or it wasent the item as described, its called their Money Back Guarantee.

In short, just make sure the seller has somewhere in the description that the RAM is 'working' before you buy it, and you should be safe.

RAM rarely goes bad unless it's been physically damaged or shorted in a bad system.

that being said, it is as good idea to check if the stick of memory is listed as compatible part for your motherboard. This is especially true for AMD Ryzen systems and Intel enthusiast class platforms.

I am planning on using ryzen in my build, so I shall check that out
