PUBG CPU and GPU Usage

Hello Guys !!

I'm using i7-8700 and 1080ti. HOW CAN I PUSH THE GAME TO WORK ALL ON GPU INSTEAD OF CPU ?? I do stream and my Games always use too much CPU usage ( around 50% ) so then when I stream, CPU Usage always goes up to 100% , Causing the games lag and stutter. There's a Guy in the forum showed me his setting and his CPU and GPU Usage, CPU only 10% , GPU 100%. I've tried his same exact setting but still sit around 50%. And not only PUBG , All different game like LOL, R6S, Paladins take around the same CPU usage, never got stable 60-70fps ingame. And I use NVENC as my encoder wehile streaming too !!

I've tried every setting possible, used NVIDIA control panel, change ingame settings,...

Help me with this one please, I've spend so many times just try to make my pc work as good as the components. Many thanks !!

Which stream settings are you using? If you expect you can stream high bitrate 1440p while gaming on a locked 8700, you're sadly mistaken for instance.

Well you're only getting 60 fps cause you're using NVENC to encode. that's taking a bunch of your GPUs power away from your game. Even if your CPU is at 50% usage, it's not the limiting factor until you hit 80 or so. List our your full streaming settings. resolution, bitrate, framerate

The GPU power is not the problem when the CPU always at 100%. Because when it hit 100% , the game's GPU usage drop bc it got nothing to do ( CPU bottleneck ).

But still , my settings for OBS :

1080p, 4000 bitrate ( I've also tried 3000 to 6000, didn't do much ) , 60fps, Lanzcos, 2 keyframe, use 2 pass encodings.

And yes , I've tried 720p. Disable or enable everything that they told but nothing happen. All I want just why all of my games even heavy one like PUBG or light one like Paladin can use so much CPU to process, while other people's game only around 10 to 20%

Try not streaming and compare results

Sorry to say, but you can't force any game to run on a GPU rather than a CPU. If PUBG is using 50% of your CPU, then your only choice is to change the process affinity. But if you lower the affinity, you'll introduce a CPU bottleneck.

 

That said, if you want to stream, use NVENC rather than x264. This will offload the video encoding to your GPU.

Your GPU need your CPU to feed the data, if your GPU couldn't fully utilize simply mean your CPU unable to feed enough data. You can't simply shift all the works to GPU, that's not how this work.

Like @xAcid9 mentioned, the CPU needs to feed the GPU. Also, the GPU cannot process net code, physics, or draw calls.

50% usage on a 6c/12t in PUBG sounds normal. I get similar results on my i7-6850k, and about 75% usage on my i7-6820hq.

I know that CPU Need to process all the thing then GPU have things to work. But other guy at my previous post is using i7 6700k and a GTX 980 and his CPU Use only 10% of the game , while GPU using 100% even while streaming. I just want to know how can I set it like him because, I bought a high end PC and get this result, I just want to fix it.

Why don't you ask him? He is probably the only person who can tell you how he got his CPU usage so low.

 

PUBG doesn't normally use such a small amount of CPU resources. He must be using some sort of mod or tweak to be using only 10% CPU. Even at the main menu, PUBG uses more than 20% of my i7-6850k cKFqTth.jpg
