I am planning to use a GTX 1070 or a 1070Ti along with my first ever build and I'm confused between these two Ryzen 2600X or Intel i5 8600K CPU's for gaming. Which one should I use for better gaming performance and value for your money. Or will the CPU limit my graphics card and be the cause of a bottleneck?

Thank you for your time

Will u be streaming? If yes go for 2600X.

If not, 8600K would be a better choice for gaming.

Both are fine, but the 8600K has faster single-threaded performance, so it's better for strictly gaming applications. If that's all you want to do with the PC outside of web-browsing and the like then go for it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Honestly, if you want the best bang for your buck, get the ryzen 5 2600. Overclocking it provides the same performance as the 2600x, but just .1 GHz less speed. Plus, it is around $60 less than the 2600, and over $70 less than the 8600k, and it will not bottleneck your gpu. It wont even bottleneck a 1080ti.

PC: CPU: i5-9600k - CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 - GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 - Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Extreme4 - RAM: Team - T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB DDR4-3000 - PSU: Corsair - TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - Case: Thermaltake - Core G21 TG

If you don't want to overlock, you don't need a K model. You can actually pickup a 8600 for cheaper than a 2600x.

8600 | $215 - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117885&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

2600x | $230 - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113497&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

PC - i7 12700K | EVGA FTW3 3090 | Corsair H150i | ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A | 32GB Corsair Vengance | Lian Li O11 Evo & EVGA 1k PSU

I didn't think streaming would affect anything other than like 5-10fps lesser.

The ryzens have 6 core/ 12 thread which allows you to run more programs simultaneously faster (and at higher quality with streams), while the intel is single thread 6 core/ 6 thread which allows for better single run performance. It affects it more than that.

Skip to 6:20 to see the viewer-side framerates.

A streamer might not see a drop in framerate, but what matters in streaming is the delivery quality to the viewers.

Yeah I don't really wanna overclock but there is not too much price difference though there is. Newegg is not present in India, so if I use that I'll have to pay shipping. Even if I do pay for shipping, it's still cheaper but I don't wanna take any chances because if something is dead on arrival, sending it back is just a pain. Pretty sure I won't get any warranty either.

If you don't need overclocking than why the need for 8600K ?

It's not like I don't need it. I wanna keep options open. And in India, there's really not much difference between the K and non-K versions, so why not?
