What is the best Ryzen cpu for gaming under 240$? 

 

I'm pairing them with a b350m gaming pro, and a gtx 1050.

If that's 240USD, then the 2600X. It's a bit overkill for a 1050 build, but it'll last for years.

The 2600X is a bit too much for my budget. Is the R5 2600 worth it?

Yeah. The 2600X is just clocked higher out of the box. Unless you have like a 1080 in the system, they'll game at the same speed.

If you don't mind overclocking it's almost like having a 2600x.

2600 + 1050 isn't bad but if your gonna game on this machine (simulators excluded) I would suggest getting a 1600 and a better GPU like a 1050ti or 1060 if that fits your budget.
