So these past few days I have been checking out some MSI boards because I'm trying to upgrade soon. Noticed the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC Motherboard and it seemed pretty good.

After doing some research on it I noticed that there is an 8+4 pin CPU power connector. I am just wondering,

1. Is the extra 4 pin necessary?

2. If it is necessary, is there any sort of molex adapter?

3. If it is necessary, are there any budget friendly power supplies with an 8+4 pin?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

1: if your power supply doesn't have the connector then it's junk don't use it

2: yeah you need and should be connecting the right plug into the board thats why it's there. don't half ass it unless you really know what you're doing.

The extra 4 pin is for extreme overclocking.
You wouldn't need that for normal usage.
