I’m confused. I’ve seen forums of people saying they’ve overclocked ryzen cpu’s with the gigabyte a320m-s2h bu there isn’t anything official saying you can. Is it actually possible on the latest bios with a ryzen 3 1200?

If you already own the motherboard it would be a waste to change it.

Might be some limited overclocking options

Try Ryzen Master or something.

Then what's your budget/country for everything? should never buy an A chipset board in general.

Do you already have a GPU?

Are you going to buy the GTX 1050? What hardware do you already own? If nothing what's the total budget for everything?

Im buying it all, about £350 hopefully with all parts

Those are the parts you probably want to buy at minimum.

Unless the part picker is broken how are you getting a GTX 1050 into that budget?

You should just use the R3 2200G without a GPU, then save up for something better than a 1050, like an RX 570/580.

Can do gaming mostly fine on it's own with fast memory, 3000mhz preferred.

In most games it's comparable to a GT 1030, can be a little faster depending on extreme memory overclocking.

The gaming on the APU alone should be pretty alright.

You're going to want an ASrock Pro 4 or MSI Tomahawk B450 board most likely

Im looking at an asus prime b450m-a, would that be alright?

Doesn't have any VRM heatsinks, SoC VRM especially is going to cook on that board since that's where the integrated GPU draws it's power.

It's why the ASrock Pro4 or MSI Tomahawk are recommended, decent VRMs and has some kind of heatsink.

If you're trying to save money the B350 Pro4 is most likely updated to support the APU
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/dWL7YJ/asrock-ab350m-pro4-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-ab350m-pro4

Otherwise the B450 board will 100% support it out of the box. Too bad the ATX version is overpriced, it has display port for freesync.

The ATX B450 board would be better, but it's overpriced in the UK looks like. Only difference is display port

The B350 board is probably updated as it should say "Ryzen 2000" or "Raven Ridge" Ready on the product pages now.

AMD does have free boot kits so that you can update the BIOS otherwise. Takes some time naturally.
