I've preordered 2 2080 Ti (yeah i know it's dumb to preorder something before reviews, but i need cards).

I forgot that i needed NVLink Bridge to "SLI" them but they don't do preorders for them here in Malaysia.

Does normal / HB SLI Bridge work with the 2080 Ti's ?

Also SLI doesn't really make sense, BF5 isnt even going to support SLI.

Not everyone uses SLI for gaming you know :D

True True, but SLI is really only used for gaming, when rendering you don't use SLI as you want each card as it's own separate entity.

Now if you are doing AI stuff you are most likely going to require the use of the NVLink bridge.

Pretty much. Thus the reason why i'm interested in the RTX cards.

I am pretty sure they don't have SLI fingers so you need the NVLink bridge.

I would imagine that NVLink bridges will be available soon after launch. But it's odd that they're not available yet. You would probably need to import if your not in the USA. At least if you want to get them any time soon I'd guess.

You have a source on that? AFAIK people were already successful in making it work by setting the compatibilty to BF1 in NVIDIA Inspector and that was in Alpha.

EDIT: OK, I saw that Dice said that they have no plans on implementing but well, I am reasonably sure people will make it work just fine.

I saw rumors somewhere that when using NVLink two Cards are shown as one to software and all RAM can be used. If that's true then there is no such thing as SLI support it will basically be built in by Nvidia into the drivers and doesn't need to be implemented by devs. That would explain why they have no plans for it, they wouldn't need to do anything.

This was true with the Quadro GV100, but what you said is completely wrong for gaming. The card needs SLI right now for the second GPU to work.

I could do no bridge SLI with my 1080 Ti's, not sure if the 2080 Ti would let you do it.. or how much performance you would lose that way, if that helps.

Well it's available for pre-order on Nvidias site so it looks like it will be available from launch, in the US at least. How well it works is going to be unknown until someone actually gets an NVLink bridge and finds out. Hopefully the driver situation will be better than it is for SLI now. But if BF5 devs and not interested then looks like a waste of cash as without them optimizing for it scaling is unlikely to be that good. We don't even know much about raytracing yet or if that can be used in SLI.

In an ideal world where driver and software support is all there I can imagine 60fps 1440p with raytracing being possible with 2 cards. Can't say I think it's a smart decision unless you're only going to play AAA games with SLI support. Basically every indie game and games from small studios will be using only 1 card. The SLI list here is almost all AAA.

No, you'll need a NVLink bridge to get the two cards working together. Odds are you'll see availability either on the day of release, or shortly after. I would check local electronics/computer stores in the area first and see if they carry them on release. If not, then you'll probably be able to order online on day 1.

The SLI list is also out of date and incomplete, thus not a reliable metric for measuring SLI compatibility. Also, most indie games don't need SLI, much less a 2080Ti to run optimally. Your point is kind of lost, when arguing the semantics of SLI with indie games.

Wouldn't be so sure, for instance Nier Automata doesn't officially support SLI but changing compatibility bits gives it close to 100% scaling with virtually no visual artifacts. And since the game is locked at 60fps, you can DSR the shit out of it and play maxed in 5k or even more.
