PSU from a pre-built PC generally is bad. I would consider getting a better PSU as it will protect your PC and will be "more efficient".

Tho in this situation I think the PSU is at no fault as it's still working. Maybe a lemon card

Title. Pc shut off last night while i was in a game and it smelt burnt. The pc wouldn't boot, so naturally i removed the gpu and it booted. After unscrewing the cooler it clearly shows that it is burnt right by the power connector.

I'll buy a new card, no worries on that front. However i dont want this to happen to my next card.

I dont know what caused this. Could it be my psu? Or was i just unlucky? I can dive deeper into what happened if needed. The card is a gtx 960

Could be the PSU. What model is it?

Could be that some component on the GPU gave up.

Wow those ratings on that PSU... just 12-18A on the 12V rails... I have a PSU from 2004 with better ratings than that. Obviously not meant for a beefy GPU.
