Problem with my new gpu

Hello,

I recently purchased a new gtx 1080 fr $350. It has a wierd problem. It's fan doesn't spin when I turn on the system. It only spins when I start playing games. What should be the possible problem?

Plz suggest me a solution..

CURRENT RIG-

CPU: Intel® Xeon® Processor X5690 OC 4.3GHz

CPU Cooler: Thermalright - Macho HR-02 Rev.A 73.6 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus - Rampage III Gene Micro ATX LGA1366 Motherboard

You can change the fan curves yourself.
Most of the time, the stock settings for fans are to spin at only >60C.

Also..why don't I get over 60 fps in rise of the tomb raider. I have seen reviews of gtx 1080s getting 100+ fps in rise of the tomb raider. Is my card thermal throttling because it's fans are not working??

I never got over 60fps in that game.

And yes....I play at 1080p

the fans are working just fine, they just run only when under load. your average FPS can be different due to variances in your CPU, ram, settings, etc.

PC Spec? CPU? RAM? Do you cook toasties in it?

But my card isn't manufactured by msi...

It's a gigabyte g1 gaming card
