csgo inconsistent fps

hello guys,

I was thinking if my set up is bottlenecking CSGO. because im having a large drop FPS and i dont know why. for example i set fps_max 300 and it will go down to 200-230 on a certain map. but when im playing GTA V my fps is 75 to 58 on a certain view map, and Assassin's Creed Origin Very High Settings 60-50 on a certain map, is that normal?

my set up is

i5 8400

2x8 vengeance lpx 2666

gigabyte b360m d3h

gigabyte gtx 970 g1

kram and GPU, how much vram do you have on that 970 again? and the slow memory probably isnt doing it but is slowest in comparison to everything else

Although GTA V has been out for a number of years now, it is still a relatively poorly optimized game. Far draw distance, cases the FPS to take a hit.

Assain's Creed Origin is another game that is fairly demanding. 50~60 on certain areas is normal. Pretty well known. A reviewer on YouTube literally brought up this point up in a recent video.

Yes, I have tried i7 8700 + 1060 (Faster than your 970 just a little) and I have the same result but my GTA 5 FPS is a little more consistent around 70-80fps on high-veryhigh.
