Windows wifi display limit?

I've been noticing that in my neighborhood there is at least 20 wireless networks Within Reach with a good adapter. But on my computer whenever I do a scan only maybe 9 show up. Is there a limit within Windows of how many networks it will show. If so is there a program that will show me every Network that the antenna can see.

Maybe those networks just don't reach where your pc's at.

I have seen more than 20 displayed. It's more likely the reach of your adapter and the fact that (I assume) it is behind your case against the wall limiting its range, and it may be a 2.4 Ghz only receiver, while some of the other networks may be 5ghz

i mean u have a point but the thing is tho if i go down the street i can acces wifis i should be able to reach from my house

ive even went on my balcony and same thing then i walk down the street like 20 feet and i can access new wifis with full bars

Not necessarily. Depending on the construction of your house, and the crosstalk of the Wireless connections in your area, their range may be limited. Basically the more networks there are in a area, the more they will drown each other out, and weaken their signal. So while you may be able to go outside and get 3,4,5 bars, due to the fickle nature of the radio waves wireless networks use, the crosstalk, and the construction of your house (which would most likely act as a massive dampener for the waves) adds to the likelihood of them being drowned out.

You have to remember that WiFi outdoors will often only have one wall to go through, in your house that's a second wall, plenty enough to block a weak signal especially if its 5Ghz.
