Hello all,

I'm currently in the market for a new PC.

As of now my build is a mixmatch of old and newer parts.

Current config:

- i7 4770K

- Z97AR

- 16gb of 1600Mhz DDR3

- MSI RX580 8gb Gaming X+

- 1 x 120gb EVO 850

- 2 x 500gb EVO 860's in Raid 0

- 1Tb SSHD

- RM550X

- H100i V2

- Various fans

Currently I live in Europe but for lack of parts and prices i used US partpicker for config.

What I think would work:

I'm not sure if what I have is good for a Threadripper build since i'm switching over from Intel and the Ram speed is always confusing to me.

I want a PC for gaming but also for machine learning and for data science and non regression testing, maybe some video 4K editing as well !

Any build advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

threadripper doesn;t actually care as much about ram speeds as normal Ryzen chips. Pudget systems has a great explanaition on their site why this is: LINK

as far as the components go, it looks like a pretty solid build. if you want to go secondhand you could probbaly find a 1950X for 500 euros tough, so maybe that would be a etter deal than the 1920?

Thank you for your reply.

I can find a 1920x at around the 400 euro mark, i'd love to go the 1950x route but I think buying a used chip without a warranty is a bit risky.

As for the GPU, I was wondering if I shoull wait for the new AMD GPU's to come out or if I should just get a Vega
