Ryzen Help

Hey guys so my best friend got some money together and asked me to choose and assemble a computer he said he had to be small (itx) good for gaming, streaming and CAD.

Here's the parts:

Ryzen 7 2700

Asrock Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac

G.Skill 16GB (2xGB) DDR4 3000MHz Aegis

Now for the problem. I assembled everything and turned it on and all the fans spin but no post, I immediately thought either incompatible memory or incompatibility between the new Ryzen chip and the last gen mobo.

Any opinion on what the problem is and what's my next step? contact the seller? Mobo manufacturer? AMD?

None of the repair shops in my city in Portugal have a last gen Ryzen to do the bios update. Should I just return the mobo and ram, and buy a B450 and official Ryzen supported pack respectively? Help, We are lost and frustrated :(

Check to see if all the cables are plugged in properly. Because you may have not forced the 24 Pin or the 6 Pin Cables in all the way. Anyways if that doesn't help then it's time to use the warranty

Agree, or if you have a shop nearby you could see if they have a Gen 1 chip they can use to update the BIOS for a few bucks too.

Yup, AMD sends out a CPU for free to update the BIOS with.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

assuming you have a dedicated grphics card (you'd plug the monitor into it) as asked what GPU do you have?

it is known that the 2nd gen ryzen may need a BIOS update on the first gen platform motherboards. ask amd for a boot kit or your retailer (who sold the items) if they have a way to 'make it work'.
