My GPU is fried help!

I bought a used HD 6870 1GB for $15, i installed it and run unigine heaven countless times i believe more than 7 times.

Everything went well until in the morning i tried to turn on my pc but it won't turn on and i smell a burnt.

So i take out the GPU and turns out it fried my PCIE SLOT.

 

What causing this? my PSU is Be Quiet Pure Power 10.

All of my parts are brand new except the GPU.

 

oh yeah i leave the case open because i use an old case that has missing side panel but i checked the inside and there's no suspicious thing like goo or something..
