So I currently have 8GB of system ram installed. It can be painful at times.
However, I am curious. What would my best balance be going with?
More vram or more system ram?
Mainly I ask this because I know Just Cause 3 is a system ram hog because of how it manages textures and stuff and I can picture just cause 4 being even more ram hungry.

So I wonder would my 4GB RX 470 be enough and maybe consider 16GB or 32GB of system ram or should I go with 16GB of system ram and aim for 6GB or 8GB of vram?

16GB system is ideal.

Vram will depend on what settings and resolution you're trying to run your game at.

4 is probably enouh for 1080p or 1440p.

Well like I said just cause 3 was a ram hungry game so I don't expect any less from just cause 4

JC3 may push a system with 8GB system RAM pretty close to running out, but with 16GB there should be more than plenty for JC4. Even if it uses a couple gigs more (which would be a hefty increase) it would be far from hitting 16GB.

I suggest you keep HWMonitor running in the background for awhile if you want to see how your resources are being utilized.

16GB of RAM is plenty

When it comes to vram:

1080p: minimum 4GB

1440p: minimum 6GB
