I'm building my first pc, sold my crappy pc & ps3 about 2 years ago & bought a Psu, Ram stick, Cabinet, HDD, Keyboard & Mouse.
Now in a week or so I'll be buying the rest of the parts i.e CPU, GPU & Mobo.
I want some help regarding the system I'm building, whether it'll be future proof, okay for gaming, good for photo /video editing & I'm curious whether the motherboard choice is good or not, it's a cheap motherboard but the good ones in budget aren't available & alternative mobo are expensive.
My budget for cpu, mobo & gpu is total around 26,000 Rs. (366$)

System config :
Amd Ryzen 5 1600
ASUS EX-A320M-GAMING Motherboard
Wd Blue 1tb 7200 rpm
Corsair Vengeance LPX 8gd DDR4 2400 mhz Ram.
Zotac Gt 1030 2gb GDDR5
Corsair VS450 PSU

I pretty much don't plan to OC, but still I'm not sure whether the mobo is good or not, there is a cheaper choice Asus Prime A320m - k & a somewhat expensive Asus Prime B350m-A which will make my budget slightly increase.

Really appreciate who helps.
Thank you.

Plenty of people will tell you that B350 is the way to go even if you're not planning on overclocking because it's worth it due to "x" or "y" factors. If you can't afford the B350, don't get it because somebody tells you to because of benefits you as an end user probably won't see. I'll see if I can improve that machine in any way.

I don't know if that GT 1030 is going to hold up in video editing. I'd get a better GPU, go used if you have to. Don't know too much about motherboards, the CPU seems a little overkill for the GPU and the ram might limit the CPU a bit.

Other than that it looks alright (although I would personally get an SSD)

Given his budget there isn't really enough room for an SSD unless you're cutting down the size of HDD you can buy.

Slightly over your budget, however this ryzen APU will perform significantly better than that 1030 you wanted. I also replaced your RAM with more ryzen appropriate RAM and replaced that fire hazard of a PSU with a safer one (VS series are very poorly built, CXM are pretty solid). Well, here you go:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($159.00 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus - PRIME A320M-K Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Patriot - Viper 4 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($80.98 @ Newegg)
Storage: Hitachi - Ultrastar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($36.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: Corsair - CXM (2015) 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($49.78 @ OutletPC)
Total: $376.74
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Really appreciate your feedback mate, read all your replys. I need to correct myself, i actually am about to buy the cpu, mobo & gpu. As for the other components i already bought them 2 years ago, i know its pretty cringy but all due to budget stuff. The rig you suggested is great but i can't ditch the ryzen 5 1600 because it'll be best for editing in my budget, it has 6 cores which any cpu in the budget doesn't have. As for the gpu, if i get a 1050ti & the cheapest Asus prime a320m - k mobo it'll surpass my budget. That's why I'm sacrificing now, an year later I'll upgrade to a better gpu.

And the main concern I've is whether the mobo i mentioned is good or not, idk about that.

Hey man, thanks for all the feedback.

You are right about the GPU but if i get a better gpu, considering 1050ti, it'll surpass my total budget.

And except cpu, gpu & mobo i bought all the pc parts 2 years ago hence can't do anything about them.

I plan to use 1030 for like an year & then upgrade to a better gpu, if possible I'll even buy a 16gb ram set (if price drops reasonably).

Your motherboard should be fine. The 1030 will be horrible for editing due to its lower performance but there's nothing I can do if that's really what you want. 4 cores in the 2400G is still great for editing, but I get what you mean with the 1600, but at least consider that the 2400G does still offer 4 cores and 8 threads which is what most editing rigs have used for years up until like 8th generation intel CPUs.

The 2400g is a little expensive that 1600 here. My main concern is editing but i want to enter into gaming too, not high end gaming though. If i don't buy the gt 1030 with R5 1600 & instead opt for 2400g only, will the performance be better than r5 1600 + gt 1030? I've attached this user benchmark screenshot.

Yes because most games rely on GPU, not CPU. In the few games that are more CPU bound you won't see much difference between the 2400G and a 1600. Userbenchmark is only performance based on averages for that they've seen on that hardware, take it with a pinch of salt because you might get better performance than what it shows, you might get worse or it might even be the same.

I personally wouldn't put a 6 core cpu on that Asus board due to the lack of VRM heatsinks. If you are doing cpu intensive work then you could have issues. Of course if you had a high airflow fan positioned over the vrm area (Get creative with cable ties etc) then that would help a lot.

Or just have decent airflow through the machine. That's how I do it with my 760G chipset ASUS AM3+ mobo (asus m5a78l-m plus usb3) and I have an fx 6300 hooked up to that baby.

Oh, i don't know about VRM stuff but then if i were to opt for 1600 then which motherboard should i choose which is not much expensive than the one I've stated. Thanks for your help though

Yeah you are right, user benchmark ain't no pinpoint always, just gives an average. But coming to the point, you saying the 2400g with some good mobo which idk will be better than 1600 + cheap mobo i stated + gt 1030?

I mean will 2400g be same as 1600 for editing & better at gaming than 1600 + gt 1030.

Yes it'll be better for gaming and good for editing, gt 1030 is actually quite weak compared to the vega 11 graphics you see with the 2400G. The mobo I suggested with the 2400G is the cheap -K mobo that you was considering, it should be fine for every day use.

Oh, gotcha. If i were to build this build I'll make the cable management as clean as possible & the cabinet I've (an Indian brand one) has 3 120mm stock fans in it which might help at the least.

That'll be really good, I have 2 120mm fans in my case (1 for intake, 1 for exhaust) and I have no temperature issues. Although my cable management is quite neat too.

I saw a few pc build videos on youtube & read some articles /threads. 2400g do is good, it gives me an upgrade path too. But when compared to 1600 it won't be better at editing. & as my ram ain't of high clockrate the 2400G won't perform optimally. It's sort of like a gamble now, like buy the 2400g with Asus b350m-k motherboard & wait for an year & upgrade to 1050ti. Or buy 1600 with b350m-k motherboard with gt 1030 & wait for an year to upgrade to gtx 1050ti. Lol I'm in a dilemma.

As long as you can get some good airflow over the VRM area then you should be ok running stock. The board does have a heatsink (Think I must have been looking at a different picture) so that is a plus. Try and cable tie a fan over the vrm area and that will help cool it more.

The Corsair VS also isn't the best but it should suffice for a low end gpu and 6 core cpu.

Yeah gotcha mate. Really appreciate your help. After much thinking & researching i guess I'll go for Ryzen 3 1300x + Asus Prime B350m-k + Zotac GTX 1050ti mini 4gb. An year later I'll upgrade to a Ryzen 5.

I guess this motherboard is good right?
