Formatting old boot drive

Heyo, can anyone provide a quick step by step on how to format an old ssd boot drive? I remember having this issue a long time ago when I plugged in another drive with an OS and it messed everything up. Now, I'm going to use my old ssd boot drive for my new system but it has an OS in it. I don't want to have any conflicts with my current boot drive.

Just can just use disk management in windows or whatever your os is. Nothing special you have to do. Just plug in to your current system.
