Brightness adjustment not working

Hi,

 

i've just bought an asus gl703ge freeDOS and win10 home FPP separately. When I installed the OS and all the updates, including the latest driver for the 1050ti, I found out that the brightness adjustment buttons (fn + f7/f8) are not working, also tried it without pressing the fn button, same result. I did not install nvidia geforce experience nor the rog gaming center (don't know where to get it) because I want to keep it bloatware-free. Gaming will not be my primary usage for this laptop, if ever.

 

Also tried the Device manager driver updates (links below), still nothing.

This is very important to me, so please help.
