So I just installed a new board yesterday, the Asus Crosshair VI Hero. I was just looking at CPU-Z and saw my tRC timing was quite a bit higher than I am use to seeing. I have a G.Skill Flare X kit in there. Here is the CPU-Z screenshot:

Now doing some research on this, there seems to be a formula of what this should be. According to this page: http://www.tweakers.fr/timings.html it should be tRP + tRAS = tRC

Quote

-Row Cycle Time (tRC).
Determines the minimum number of clock cycles a memory row takes to
complete a full cycle, from row activation up to the precharging of
the active row. For optimal performance, use the lowest value you can,
according to the tRC = tRAS + tRP formula. For example:
if your memory module's tRAS is 7 clock cycles and its tRP is 4 clock cycles,
then the row cycle time or tRC should be 11 clock cycles.

If this is still true, then my tRC should be set to 48, and not 73 correct? I am not a memory and timing expert so hoping to get some insight into this and know if I am looking and reading this correctly or not before I start tinkering around in the BIOS with my memory timings manually.

so I went ahead and changed it. Booted up and posted just fine. I ran Aida64 memory benchmark before and after and see no real difference.
