HBO GO resolution

Just started re-watching GOT for the millionth time on HBO GO. Only issue is i now have a 4k monitor, and this looks pretty bad. It seems like its locked at 720p. I'm using windows 7 and google chrome.

I know they don't have 4k content, but could i get this up to 1080p if i used internet explorer or another browser? I'm not sure if its a browser issue, or if HBO GO has the cap itself, maybe even the first few seasons were shot in 720p (seems unlikely). I know with netflix on the windows 7, i have to use IE to get 1080p. 

 

Anyone have anymore info for me?
