I've benchmarked asus rx 480 8gb vs msi gtx 1060 6gb on i5-3340 machine and the gtx take about 10%-15% more cpu than rx 480 in fortnite (DX11) and rocket league (DX9). So is it true that nvidia loads more on cpu than amd?

Yes usually Nvidia driver use more CPU power because their cards use software scheduling since 700 series Kepler, also their driver intercept drawcalls and redistribute it pretty evenly across all threads.

Few examples.

interesting, I wonder does the same apply to the 580 as well?

Same GPU with the same drivers

I've heard the opposite, that AMD drivers need a bit more power. I don't think it matters too much though

That's an F in the profile pic

Yep, in OpenGL case AMD loads a lot more on CPU due to driver kernels, but in our case i'm running DX11/9 games
