My razer deathadder unexpectedly stopped functioning.

So i recently built a pc, (the day before this thread was posted, in fact) mainly to use for gaming but if i ever needed, work aswell.

I have been spending all day today and all day yesterday after installing drivers and programs, trying to fix my mouse issue.

I try to play a game, and my mouse may function for maybe a minute or so, but after that, it’s like the sensor just gives up and refuses to work. Every button on the mouse still works fine, and it’s not like my keyboard is affected like this aswell.

It may be important to add that i have a gtx 1050 ti and a 450w power supply (which i think is the culprit) but i’d like someone more knowledgable than i to help.

I have reinstalled my drivers twice, checked every usb port and looked for every article i could find relating to my issue.

But there is none. It seems as if nobody is having the same problem as me, so i can’t find any solutions to it.

Id really like to know if my mouse is broken or if my power supply may just not be large enough, or if there is any other hidden problem i don’t know about.

Id also like to note that i can play games like doki doki and osu! mostly fine, but as soon as i launch something like csgo or warframe, my mouse spazzes, but my fps doesn’t drop or anything.

thanks for taking the time to help, i really appreciate it.

Have you tried using the mouse on a different computer and seeing if it works there?

If it doesn't work on another computer then it's a hardware problem with the mouse.

Not very uncommon for crappy razer peripherals.

You can try to RMA it, or buy a new mouse from a different brand.

okay, here’s some extra backstory:

i previously used the mouse for console gaming, which is technically cheating, but regardless,

i never had any problems on console playing an fps game like overwatch, which makes me think it probably isn’t the mouse. Especially since it was working fine just yesterday, (last time i played) and wasn’t damaged between then and now.

I had also previously installed the drivers onto a separate pc a while ago, to set up my mouse (dpi, bindings, etc) and never had any problems there.

i don’t have access to that pc anymore though, so i can’t test the mouse there.

Anyways, the situation leads me to believe my power supply may be the culprit, as perhaps my gtx 1050 ti and other parts are putting too much stress on the pc, causing some things to malfunction. Thus, i have bought a 750w power supply to hopefully aid the issue, and if that doesn’t work, i may have to buy another mouse, and i’ll check to see if i’m still in warranty for this one.

however, i’ll still appreciate more advice, even the smallest amount can go a long way!

Electronics can stop working randomly without any obvious physical damage.

It is almost certainly not your power supply.

If you can't test it on another computer there is no way of being certain that it is the mouse.

I am going to test the mouse, but even if that isn’t the issue, hey, i’ve got a better power supply now anyways?

Win in my books.

I went, to the gaming cafe, played some csgo with some of my friends, and guess what?

The mouse didn’t have a single issue the entire time i was there. Not one.

I’d like to hear your opinion about this, especially if maybe something else is wrong with my computer?
