I just bought an X62 (w/ AM4 Bracket) mainly for aesthetics but I’m wondering if I installed it the wrong way or something...

My CPU is a Ryzen 1600 running 3.8Ghz @ 1.35V and my temps are same (60C while stress testing) when I was using my Hyper212 Evo.

Fans are running at 70% fixed while the pump is running at 80% fixed.

The backplate of my motherboard fell off when I removed the Hyper 212 but I just put it back on to mount the X62.

I checked if the plate of the X62 is having contact with the CPU and it was. I tried removing and repasting an MX-4 Thermal paste but still same results.

After I installed the X62 again I tried to shake the mount and it wobbled a bit. Is it because of the backplate that’s not sticking to my board?

Try using the backplate that came with the cooler, and also thightening it down a bit further.

Isn’t that backplate for Intel?

I read the manual, it seems like yes, there is no backplate for amd, you did right using the motherboard one.

Then just try screwing the screws in all the way or something, make sure you use the right standoffs for the cooler.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

Oh one thing you really need to do.

While the screws are "thumbscrews", dont relay on only your thumbs to tighten them, use a screwdriver.

I made that mistake on a cooler, and i was surprise on why the temps were so bad, then i thightened the thumbscrews with a screwdriver, they only moved a few rotations, but that fixed my temps.

Also watch the manual:

I used the wrong mounting screws. I didn't read the paper manual, i just watched the video manual.

Apparently the video manual that says AMD is for the older sockets.

After I read the manual I found out that the screws for AM4 are not the one that I used.

Temps are OK now. Max temp while doing stress test is 50C.

That is why i always read the paper manual.

But seems like your problem is now solved, so good night.
